What are the device requirements for the application to work?

  • The application has to be installed on an Android device that's equipped with an NFC chip to be able to accept payments. It can't be rooted, the developer mode must be disabled.

  • The device must be on an OS version that is supported by Google and that is at least Android 11.

  • Activate your NFC chip before you start using the application, as well as and network-provided time and date.

  • You can locate the NFC chip on the device by reviewing the technical details.

  • Your device must be connected to internet (4G or WiFi).

Does PayWish work if I’m not connected to the Internet?

To work correctly, the application needs to communicate with the cloud. An internet connection is therefore required.​

How do I log into the application?

Once your account has been created and activated, you receive an activation link on your email address. This link allows the user to choose its password.  The email address and the chosen password are user’s credentials to access to the service.

Do I have to log into the application each time I open it?

The login information is required only once at the initialization of the application. Once initialized, the app does not ask to enter the password again neither when it is launched, nor when the user is accepting a purchase transaction.

However, it is requested to enter the password of the “admin” user for every refund transaction as this is considered as a sensitive operation.

How will my first login go?

When you connect to the app, all the required merchants details are retrieved by the app so that everything works fine and you receive the payment on your account. This process can take up to 1 minute. Do not shut down the app until it's done.

My application is not working, why?

Please make sure you have checked the following pre-requisites:

  • Working internet connection

  • NFC detection activated

  • Geolocation activated

  • Network-provided time zone and date

  • Your device can’t be rooted, running in debug or developer mode.

  • The device you’re using needs to be equipped Android 9+ over devices, originally shipped with Android version 8 or higher.

If you've checked all these pre-requisites and it still isn't working, please contact customer support and have your device information ready.

What steps must be taken if I want to change my device?

You may download the application on your new device and use the same login and password credentials. Please note that activating a new app does not deactivate the old one.

Don’t forget to uninstall the app from the old device if it’s not going to be used for payment acceptance.

Can I accept any amount from any type of contactless payment means?

The application works the same way a traditional payment terminal does. It allows you to accept any amount from any contactless payment means.

The application is fully certified with the existing standards from Visa, Mastercard and PCI. It enables the Pin on Glass feature, meaning the entry of the PIN in the Software POS app.

Which user role can accept a purchase transaction?

All users can log into the app and accept purchases.

Which user role can make a refund?

Only admin users can make a refund as this is considered as a sensitive operation.

How do I help my customers with their payment experience?

Your customers may be a bit ill at ease when first experiencing payment on a Software POS app, this is quite normal as SoftPOS is still an innovation. Make sure to guide them through the payment process and to show them where is the NFC chip on which they should tap their card.

The application has met the highest standards in terms of security and fraud prevention.

The security and certification level of the solution is equivalent to the one used to certify and secure standard POS terminals. It is the same certification body, the PCI SSC that is responsible of these certification processes.

All the security is embedded into the application, there is also permanent attestation and monitoring services that enable to prevent fraud or malicious activity.

What should I do when I encounter an error when processing a payment?

Errors may occur when you are processing a payment for various reasons (internet connection lost or error in the communication with the bank). In some cases, the issue is temporary, and you may retry the operation or perform the necessary action to enable the service again.

If after several retries you are still unable to perform a payment, you may contact the support and explain the issue. There is often an error code associated to the problem you may encounter, feel free to mention this error code to the support team to smooth the process.

Can the application be used in parallel with other functionalities (e.g., camera or phone)?

The application does not have any control over your smartphone or tablet's native features. You can still use other applications while keeping your payment application open.

What is the management tool for the merchant?

Market Pay Hub is a management tool that allows the merchant admin to create new users and assign the needed role to each user.

The hub also enables the merchant admin to follow the activity of its stores, view the transactions list and export the data. Market Pay Hub progressively evolves with new features to enable further reporting to merchant admins.

What can I do if I get an error message?

The most frequent errors are as follows:

  • error 10-2100: network problem on the phone, please check your network settings and try again.

  • error 10-2201: check that developer mode is disabled, that the device is not rooted, that the device is not older than native Android 8 or that accessibility options are all disabled, then force the application to stop and try again.

  • error 10-2402: contactless card reader not available, wait a few seconds and try again. If this doesn't help, force application shutdown and try again.

  • errors 10-25XX and 10-26XX: errors when reading the card, try to retry the transaction, if this doesn't work, change the card.
